A couple of weeks ago I learned I had a 80% blockage in my right Carotid Artery. Something signaled my Cardiologist to order the CT Scan. He then scheduled me to see a surgeon ASAP.
I did see the Surgeon and the procedure was scheduled for December 21. I checked in to the hospital at 8:30 AM, had the surgery at about 11 AM. Then checked out 24 hours later. The big word turned out to be Carotid "Endarterectomy."
The amazing part is I'm home with virtually no discomfort at all. No stitches as the incisions are basically glued shut. Just a few weeks of easy duty now. I dodged the severe stroke at 73 years of age.
Hats off to Dr Stephen Maniscalco for the handiwork!
He's in The Woodlands.
