I hope this hasn’t been done yet and if so please delete!! Who is getting hyped up about this coming year!! I sure am! This year will be my labs (Bonnie) second year and my girlfriends lab (Sadie) first year! They have both been trained by Nick Stillwell with Run&Gun Adventures and are stone cold machines when it comes to duck hunting! Also, I recently bought a boat to broaden my accessibility to different areas. My 2 sons and I will try to hit it hard this year. Both are very new to duck hunting and extremely excited for the drawing and to hunt some public and private spots this year!

Anyway, please feel free to post away with your hunts, kills and experiences! I’m really looking forward to hearing your stories and seeing some great birds on the ground!!! Keep your eyes to the skies ladies and gentlemen!!

I have some good pics of Bonnie with some ducks she’s retrieved but cant get them to load

Yep we normally have a thread every year for duck hunting. I'm looking forward to it, but I think it will be a tough year with duck numbers way down.

I do have a seaduck and brant hunt scheduled for January in Massachusetts. I'm looking forward to that. I should get 30-40 hunts in this season.

I’m pumped going into my 3rd season, got a new pup but he won’t be ready till next year. Have a hunt planned in the panhandle and other than that it’ll be public land.

Hopefully we will have some come in this year but I dont think the numbers will show up till the second split unfortunately. Good luck with your hunt!! I would love to do that some day! I will be hitting the Texas coast a few times this year so I’m excited about that!!

thank you sir. it's going to be a little under powered but it's going to work. not much I can do when they inforce 25hp and under . it's a 1846 with 23gtr. Boat was really taken care of and not used much from the original owner . I'm ready to get it marsh nasty

It will work for that & the federal guy definitely enforces the HP rule.

yeah I've had several of these types of boats and know what to expect from it. Going to be a perfect little marsh rig. Gotta love the Hp restrictions.

TXPEPPER - Nick is a great trainer! We run the hunt test circuit with him and he is top notch. I know you will be pleased with those dogs. Good luck!

Im ready. we will bounce around Texas/Oklahoma and maybe Arkansas if time permits. May also head up to North Dakota in October.

Pup is a 1.5yrs old at the trainer in Mississippi doing the hunt test scene right now. Im ready to have him for his first season.

You’re absolutely right!! He’s a great trainer and would suggest him to anyone!! My lab Bonnie does great and cant wait to see how the other one does!!

I'm looking forward to it my self this year. Going to take Blood Trail and his son out on one of my hunts this year. Might even do another North Texas TBH group hunt pending conditions. Last one was in 2009.

Just picked up my new Can-Am Defender Max HMR yesterday. We've already put new wheels and tires, and tonight going to put some bigger fenders. Fired up for this fall.

I’m in waiting on cam and heads to get back from the shop then time to start lookin around hopefully this season is the same as last season. if anyone wants to hunt together this year pm me had a lot of fun last year with some tbh members

Had I known that I wouldnt have told Dylan I wanted to hunt with him during teal season. I didnt know he got more people

Depends on where you hunt, but i personally wouldn’t consider 6-8 dz a large spread and pick it up each hunt. I guess all depends on your hunting set up but around me the guys that leave their spreads out are hunting traffic and have around 50 dozen out

I don’t pick up decoys. As posted above though, we have quite a few out in most of our spots.

Well, sometimes it's nice watching stuff that's over 3/4 miles away at my age, like gulls and turns picking the left overs from stripers hitting top of water, diver ducks feeding out in the middle of the lake, hogs or is it dogs out on the beach, whos that people in that boat question (which I carry binoculars when I'm fishing too), or who is that in the blind half mile or more away? And sometimes it's just nice to sit and watch various types of shore birds closer. Lots of reasons to keep some binoculars handy in the boat, the truck, and at home.
