    Iguana hunt success!

Went to Puerto Rico last week for my B.I.L’s wedding.
Managed to sneak away for an iguana hunt.
Ended up getting about 18 big ones and probably 20 smaller ones.
The big ones were kept on ice and my guide sold them later.
It was a blast and highly recommend it if you ever get the chance.

That's a unique experience. I assume the locals eat them? Were they easy to find, or did you have to search a lot? Did the hunt require a license?

        Sorry for all the questions....

We did that earlier this year for a buddies bachelor party one day south of Miami. Had to shoot them with blowguns though. They were everywhere. We kept the legs and fried and grilled some back at the house. The fried legs tasted like chicken drumsticks to me, the grilled weren't too great but we didn't marinate them very long, we also had a lot of liquid encouragement.

Local's eat them he said, I would like to have tried some but my time was limited. No license required, or at least he didn't tell me I need one. We were at a Plantain farm that had never been hunted before. Fairly easy to find , it took me a while to start to spot them. They can hide really well way up in the trees. the land owner told us to shoot all we could.

They are not native to Puerto rico.

Drive around on Grand Cayman and take the road the cuts the island in half, you can hit a dozen of them in your car. All over the place.
