    Book suggestions (non-hunting)

I like to read in deer camp and looking for some new suggestions. Ive read every Louis Lamour book multiple times. Lonesome Dove series. The Jack Reacher series. Alex Cross series. Looking for something similar to those lines/genres. Appreciate it

Check out CJ Box. He has a crime series featuring a GW named Joe Pickett.

x'2! I've read about half his Joe Pickett novels and enjoyed them all. Buy em' off Amazon, easier than a book store and also have bought several from their used selection, lot cheaper than new some times.

My side of the mountain.....Jean Craighead George. Was recommended to me by my uncle 25 years ago. Not a western but I think most hunters would enjoy it. It is not a hunting book but has a little bit of hunting and trapping in it.

I have read some of the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn. Not bad.

Elmer Kelton wrote a bunch of frontier and cowboy stories, and was from San Angelo.

Read Frank Dobie for historical accounts of western stories and topics. The Longhorns, for example.

If you haven’t read Noah Smithwick, you should read that too.

Clive Cussler and Wilbur Smith are 2 of my favorite deer stand authors.

I'm reading "1491" now. It's about the condition of the America's at the time Columbus "discovered" America. Very, very interesting.
