What is your truck gun?

The cheapest AR pistol that I could build, except the trigger, in 7.62x39. It has killed close to a hundred hogs by now. It has become my favorite gun of all time.

For about 30 years my main truck gun was a Kimber 22 Hornet. Here lately I been alternating between a Sako L46 221 Fireball and a Bergara BMR Carbon .22. Like the smaller calibers for the truck.

Used to be a synthetic lever 30-30 open sight. Now I carry a marlin tube fed .22 mag. More like a buggy gun instead of a truck gun. I work in a plant and can't have a gun in my truck.

No gun in my truck last decade, almost shot up a group of guys I caught stealing onions, I had never made a group of men so mad in my life and the driver begged me to shoot him, decided maybe I didn’t need one. If I catch them stealing I will just help load the bags. My neighbors grandson was guarding the water melons. A crew beat the kid up and stole a trailer load. They came back to kick grandpa’s azz too and get another load. First round went thru his heart, second round hit the other guy as he ran away in the wrist and he lost his hand. He lost his farm, now its just have a plan inside the house. I catch thieves at the cotton gin regularly after the alarm goes off, what can you do?

Same gun I carry in my Mules gun rack. It’s 35 yrs old and still getting it done. Mostly turkey predators with hollow points

I don’t live anywhere where I could or would have a rifle in my truck.

When I’m at the ranch it’s whatever I have with me. I keep a Hellcat in my truck and a Shield in my car.

Maybe not a good idea for someone in the city... I’m fortunate to live in rural Texas.. I drive on the properties I hunt daily and it’s become a way of life for me...

Mine changes a lot but I always have one behind the backseat of my Superduty in a case. Sometimes it is my Rem 700 VSSF 220 Swift, sometimes my CZ 520 Varmi mnt 17 Rem and occasionally my Rem 700 7mm RUM. Really depends what I am going to be doing in the country that day.

Mines a standard Mossberg Maverick with a box of slugs, some buckshot, and assorted bird shot. Two seasons ago my rifle acted up on a morning hunt and I ran back to the truck to finish the hunt with it. Shot a big bodied East Texas buck at 48 yards with a slug that hunt. Pretty cool experience
