                    Had a tree stand up in a big oak tree, about once a month I'd be in my stand when a 6' TX Rat snake like your's would slide up the side of the oak and check all the knot holes for tree mice. I could hear the little pinkies squeaking...

                            I've always heard that snakes that climb are "good" snakes and that venomous snakes stay on the ground, with the notable exception of the coral snake, which is venomous AND a climber. Then, of course, you apply the "Red and Yellow..." rule.

                            Have no idea whether or not this true
