I’m really hoping this doesn’t come back to bite us... Two buddies and I hunt 7 acres on the outskirts of Smithville Tx (right outside of Bastrop)

We watched this deer for over 2 hours on multiple occasions this weekend and decided to pass... We only passed because we have laid eyes on two other deer in the general area of our acreage (both deer have been spotted within 1,200 yards with smaller bucks that we have on camera) It was REALLY tough to pass this deer basically on a whim and a prayer that we can somehow get the other two deer our way.

Fingers crossed one of the big boys follows a hot doe! It’s starting to heat up around here!

You may be right! Our main concern is not creating pressure, there has only been one deer taken out of that acreage in the last several years so we aren’t sure how the “regulars” will react to a harvest.

No sir, one buck tag! If we each had two buck tags he would be in the freezer for sure.

The neighbors directly across the road have a feeder and stand set up but rarely hunt. Other then that the next closet hunter is about 2 miles

Lmao now that is a valid point. We have two stands (take your pick depending on the wind) and take turns gettin on the gun. The other two film!
