Supply and demand. Everything has gone up in price. Back when guns were cheap, people were still complaining that they cost too much. Don't like it, don't buy it. It does get a little annoying though seeing the same handful of guys running their own personal gun store and asking above the already inflated market value.
I have one of these with the original receipt that is around $500...imagine the increase from shelf prices on mint colt & winchesters made pre-1900's that get well into 6 figure for some models.
I've got enough guns to keep me happy for the rest of my days, even if I never buy another one, and at today's ridiculous prices, I probably won't .......
In 1964, minimum wage was $1.15/hr and the median annual income for the country was $6,000/year. So yeah, prices have gone up in the last 57 years, lol.
