My aunt attacked by a buck this morning…

I’ve been trying to get her to let me go bow hunt at their house for years, but she “didn’t want me to shoot her pets”. I think she’s changed her mind now. She’s always been an animal lover, but has no problem eating beef, chicken, or pork. She didn’t realize that the rut starts in August in Brazoria county, and learned a hard lesson this morning. She got some wounds on her arms & legs before my uncle heard her screaming and beat the deer off of her, and is headed to the doctor. Thankful it wasn’t worse, and thankful it wasn’t a kid trying to feed him blueberries. Couple of screen shots from the video she sent. You can see that the deer was posturing aggressively, but she didn’t realize it until it was too late. Her horrid screams were difficult to listen to.

Jeez. I bet she's changed her tune for sure. See some tamales in y'alls near future. Joking aside, glad she wasn't hurt more seriously.

        Glad it was relatively minor.

There are some big boys in Bar X, glad it wasn’t one of them…

Glad your aunts ok. The pet ones are the worst. I had a buck about that big hit me in the lower back, on a place I trap coyotes. Told the owner and he said it had attacked his wife the week before. He said he had been shooting the deer with a paintball gun to increase its fear of humans. I don’t trap that place anymore!

Bucks are not pets. Glad she was able to get away.

Ha! Not sure which neighbor put the collar on him, but I know of two deer out there that are sporting them.

That collar looks like it’s gonna be tight on a rutting neck in a couple years.
