I really get a kick out of Holdem’s one liners; he’s like the Don Rickles of the TBH….

Lots of the "younguns" on here probally don't remember,or never knew ,who "Don Rickles " was.....or "Tim Conway"....and how old am I...well let's say 1938 was a great year for me...I turned from a twinkle to a reality...

While searching for something else I came across this thread. Hard to believe it was 9 years ago. I guess it makes some of us older than dirt now. Many of us have been hanging around here for over 20 years. The fact that I was able to get the name TEXBOW is a testament to how long I've been mostly lurking.

Tuco, I believe it was "Allan". But not real sure, maybe some of the older folks will remember. He died of cancer. And I don't remember when.

Being 73 I think the better description is "Ancient" rather than elder. Still love bowhunting more than just about anything, that just makes me feel younger when I have a bow in my hands. Even though the poundage has been reduced by about 20lbs.

I have an anecdote about aging. My wife and I are friends with Cistercian monks (Catholic) in a small monastery in rural Pennsylvania.

Several years ago the abbot (in charge) got an invitation (by phone call) from Mother Teresa to give a series of religious lectures to the Sisters of Mercy in Calcutta, India. He went- nobody said ‘no’ to Mother Teresa.

When they met after exchanging greetings, she asked “Luke- how old are you?”. He replied “I’m 68. How old are you?”.

Mother Teresa replied as she poked herself in the chest with her arthritic finger, “I’m 82….. but I have the heart of an 18 year old girl”.

There you have it.
