Drove up to Brady last weekend and picked up my oryx mount from Damuth Taxidermy. Killed the animal at Tim King's London Oaks Ranch, near Junction, Menard and Brady about a year and a half ago. Our own Jerry "Bisch" Bischoffberger was in the blind with me as guide.
Shot it with my 67-lb Weathers recurve that I bought from Rick Barbee a couple of years earlier. Used a 600-grain carbon arrow, with a 300-grain single-bevel Tuffhead broadhead, getting a double-lung complete pass-through that stuck in the ground beyond the animal. Within 20 minutes the oryx laid down and expired about 40 yards away.
This was kind of an archery animal of a lifetime for me, and thanks to all involved. Damuth certainly did a great job on the pedestal mount. The horns are 37". Here's a couple of pics of the finished mount.
