Got oryx mount back from Damuth

Drove up to Brady last weekend and picked up my oryx mount from Damuth Taxidermy. Killed the animal at Tim King's London Oaks Ranch, near Junction, Menard and Brady about a year and a half ago. Our own Jerry "Bisch" Bischoffberger was in the blind with me as guide.

Shot it with my 67-lb Weathers recurve that I bought from Rick Barbee a couple of years earlier. Used a 600-grain carbon arrow, with a 300-grain single-bevel Tuffhead broadhead, getting a double-lung complete pass-through that stuck in the ground beyond the animal. Within 20 minutes the oryx laid down and expired about 40 yards away.

This was kind of an archery animal of a lifetime for me, and thanks to all involved. Damuth certainly did a great job on the pedestal mount. The horns are 37". Here's a couple of pics of the finished mount.

Thanks, y'all. I couldn't be more pleased with how it came out. Special thanks to DRT (Gary) who helped set up that hunt and some others to get me successful in the kill column.

They did a beautiful job Ellis. It looks as good as when I saw it right after it went down. They really did justice to it. Congrats.
