    DIY porch swing

My wife sent me a picture of some swing online. It was price outrageously and was too small. I told her that and she proceeded with “yeah but you can build it right?? I jokingly said “sure for about $200 in materials and a table saw.”

So long story short. Picked a table saw up off TBH on Monday and had this sucker hanging by Tuesday evening.

I’m gonna let it hang and dry out for a month or two before I paint it.

Looks Great! I always under budget these things lol. Good call tossing a tool in the deal though.

It’s a critical part of negotiating a project, think you get man-card points for that.

Thanks guys. I’m starting to use it all the time now. Next will be:

            - Brad nailer
            - 20v router
            - 20v jigsaw

            Not necessarily in that order

I bought a 20v Sawzall and im not impressed. Chews up batteries super quick. The router was on my list, but I would just get a corded one along with the jigsaw. Just my $0.02 Also, Ive had the best luck with the Bostitch smartpoint nailers. Safety doesn't require moving your work to disengage.

I love the tool add!!! Smart move. She had her eye on the prize and probably didn't notice. Lol. Swing looks great.

That's a nice project. I often use 2X YP for projects. You'll be amazed of of the beauty if ran through a planer. Some thing to possibly get in the future.
