The other buck appears to be alive in the second picture. Doesn't help with the dead 200"er though.

We found two stuck together once. One alive and one not. Roped the live one's back feet , held his head down and used a recipe saw to cut the dead ones horn off. Thought it might get western on the release part. He was exhausted and just laid there. Went back an hour later and he was gone. Mother nature is ruff!
Called the game wardens before we cut them apart and they said if we kept either one of them we would have to tag them. At that time we were in a one buck county. We left the dead one for the yotes.

Well at least they found them and know what happened

Would stink to take the time and money to get one that old and big and then find them like that

Not to hijack the thread, but that GW is dead wrong. You wouldn’t be allowed to keep the meat, which you wouldn’t want anyway, but you don’t have to tag an animal you found on your ranch in order to keep the horns. I would be thrown under the jail if that was the law.

The key factor is on your property, yes you can. But you can't on a public road or someone else's property.

Terrible waste of two wt bucks. smh

$70k...I thought bit was only $35k. Regardless, it's well out of my price range.

And this is exactly why you shoot a mature 200" deer when you see one.. Waiting until next year is a huge gamble..

Friend of mine in Blanket found 2 of his in his tank several years back. Both were equal or better than 200"

He has a really cool mount in his living room now.

We found two this year next to my feeder pen
Old 8 and young 10. 8 was dead and half eaten by yotes
The ten was released and staggered away
Made it only 75 yards and I found him last week
135” 19.5 wide 3.5 yr old. I was a little sick, but it happens.

I saw two heads in the meat locker in Early, Tx this year locked together
Both were 200+ monsters.

These 2 guys disappeared mid November. I started searching the place last week every day for a couple hours covering as much ground as I could. Found them Wednesday. 2 of our largest bucks and it sucks. Hate to imagine the death of these deer. Coyotes killing them if not stress.

Both over 200Ē

See my avatar

Our bio on a huge low fence place put him on the wait one more year list ( shoot him and your whole team is fired )
We never saw or found him after lots of time and effort
It’s a calculated risk you take on a high dollar lease

“ we did have two hunters drop off after he disappeared so you figure it out”
