We have a bridge operator job open in Galveston. It’s a great job and very easy work, you sit up in the tower at Galveston railroad bridge and raise and lower the bridge for boat and train traffic. Have to be 18+ with a diploma or GED, clean driving record and drug free. It’s shift work but only 8 hours a day and 5 days a week. Pay is $251.42 a day with overtime at 1.5x when available. The cell service is good there and the view isn’t bad. When I was based out of Houston as a dispatcher I spent a few shifts on the bridge covering for the operators when everyone was off or nobody wanted the overtime.
