Default Eliminating “if only you were closer”

I propose removing “if only you were closer” from all classified ad responses from this point forward.

Thank you and carry on

"Wish you were closer"

Is that one still good?

It don't bother me if it's bumping something I'm selling.

Yeah I agree with this, those comments just keep it from getting buried so look at the benefit. I'd also venture that most serious buyers will PM instead of replying on the thread.

Something else we should remove is "I'll take it".....and then disappearing, not returning PMs or emails, at all, for days. Here's an idea.....Ask your wife BEFORE you claim it. If you can't make a purchase without her permission, then just refrain.

And I propose we remove "Boom goes the dynamite" from otherwise productive threads...

Just do a search of all posts and see how many times and threads that post pops up and WHO posts it.

But wish you were closer adds to threads. Got it, good to know.

And “boom goes the dynamite” is the same as “good deer” or “nice buck”

What if you’re actually using dynamite when you post it. One hook...one fish is very unproductive.

I remember back in the day back home when you could still buy cherry bombs and silver salutes... If you had a couple tramble nets, they made pretty good fishbait when tied to a good rock! Don't recall my brother or dad/uncles hollerin' "Boom goes the dynamite" before throwin' 'em in tho...

Start calling people on it... ask them to meet or better yet set up a TBH express. They'll learn and stop doing it.

We went from an anti "if only you were closer" thread, to "Boom goes the dynamite", to "6 months till hunting season" in just 30 posts! Got to be a record.

Thread got off track real quick.

I’ve learned that it depends on what you’re selling and the season... has a bow take awhile to sell but had a kayak sell within 24 hours. I would imagine most people have fishing on the brain then hinting right now but just an observation. Welcome to TBH!

I wouldn’t mind “I wish you were closer” if the poster would then bump the price by $1 afterwards. I find that helpful.
