Just talked to my parents in hempstead. Sun out there also and no rain in hours. They got 1/4". Most of what we got in our area came from that way. I hope we made it.

Good news is spring creek on rosehill isnt even over the sandbars

It so sad to see everyone suffer from flooding because of poor planning and over development

That's true to an extent, however, dump 5-10 inches of rain just about anywhere within a couple hours and you will have some problems. Some areas received 20 plus inches of rain overnight.

A lot of problems in Houston today were street flooding. This thing hit hard just before lunch with little to no warning. Literally multiple inches of rain fell within a matter of an hour. A lot of forecast this morning were stating this system was moving off to the Northeast. It drifted back south and obviously created some havoc.

Prayers for all that have been adversely affected.

Yep. An Act of God that we have no control over. Thereís always finger pointing but thatís why itís called a natural disaster.

Hate to see whatís going on just a few miles from my house. Praying tonight for safety of all.

Like others who have posted, my parents flooded in May and again today. Having flooded in Harvey I canít even imagine going through it again. Between helping my parents and my own house, I am becoming a professional at flooded houses.

Less than 24 hour rain total. No drainage system could ever keep up with that. Absolutely insane.

Key point. Wife and I discussed this yesterday. Never had a water issue at our home but with those rainfall rates and totals I expect we would. Carry flood insurance for peace of mind because of that.

We had flood insurance for Harvey and didnít flood, and have it still now. Weíve been lucky both times, but the peace of mind as weíve watched the waters rise has been worth every penny.

We were just under 30" here....It could have actually hit 30" as the gauge had overflowed once. Too much rain, way too fast.

I have a neighbor that couldn't get home from San Diego (IAH was closed) and the dog sitter couldn't get out of her house to go take care of the dog. I had to rescue a LARGE old, sweet boxer who is now laying at my feet.

Praying the heat and horrible humidity doesn't ramp up more storms this afternoon!

Sure hate to hear about all the flooding down South, yall stay safe.

FYI.....for all yall that hunt in Leon, Freestone, and Navarro counties all the rain they were promising us earlier in the week never made it. It is dry as a bone up here and we sure could have used a couple good inches.

Prayers for all of those affected. I thought Harvey was supposed to be a ď500yr eventĒ. Well, here we go again. We didnít flood as bad this time, but we got just about 1.5ft of water. The crazy part is that it all happened after it finished raining, during all of the heavy rains yesterday morning there was no high water in my neighborhood, but once all of the Peach Creek drainage and other northern tributaries came down into Caney Creek, water rose fast and we evacuated. We will get through this though, been through this before. Take care amigos

Houston 2 news channel weather cast, it placed yellow disturbance marker just off shore from corpus tue or wed. I'd sure like to see what the computer runs are saying.

Look guys, I am not, nor claim to be some sort of an expert(Definitely not Dr. Neil Frank ). I just try to relay information, provide some sort of an advanced heads up if possible, and offer my own personal thoughts on this stuff since it is a discussion board after all. Similar to Johnny, and the others that frequently post on these topics. If there appears to be a legit area of concern, it will definitely get talked about here. Always rely on trusted sources like the NWS, NHC, etc. when it comes to this as they are the professionals.

What I can see is what used to be Invest 96L, is still in the Caribbean Sea, and in the area of Jamaica presently. Its not much , and conditions are not good at the moment, but as it head W/NW towards the Yucatan conditions do get a little better. Model's don't really do much with it, but a couple do have a Surface Low closed off after it passes the tip of the Yucatan and enters into Southern Gulf. At this time there isn't much interest from GFS/Euro, but it's something to keep an eye on for sure.

Euro model got a little more interesting in regards to Tropical Storm Karen showing a high pressure ridge building in over the Atlantic, and pushing Karen back to the W/SW in the Southern Bahamas, and into Cuba before re-emerging in the Gulf. None of the others are showing this, so am not buying that solution right now. Another thing to just keep an eye on, however.

Thanks, CCbluewater and Johnny. I truly enjoy your information, predictions, and thoughts. I trust you guys more than the news for the most part, even though I still watch it.

I enjoy reading CC and Johnny's information on here. The more info, the better a person can be prepared, especially living on the coast. The news media thrives on hype. Sometimes I think they want major storms to hit us.

Ditto.

Now, closet forecasters, go back in the closet and try not to thump your head on the door frame on the way in
