This. I generally gave a little to the people who made me laugh or had a talent. Also don’t get too far off the beaten path or they might not “ask” you for your money. [emoji15]

Another vote for the commissary. Save room for the coconut cream pie!

Wolf River Café in Rossville, 35 miles east of Memphis. Go on a Friday or Saturday and order the catfish. Tell Betty Knox Salmon (owner) & Carl (cook) the boys from Texas say hello.

X2 but I wouldn’t call it a hole in the wall, pretty good sized two story place and everything our group ordered was amazing!

I hope Gus’s in Memphis is better than the one in Houston. Have had better at a whole lot less priced. There are some good Soul food country cooking places down by the river/ prymid.

The Rendezvous is average at best. The ribs are ok, nothing special. They come with fries and baked beans. Odd.

Corkys is just you average restaurant with I guess bbq served on a plate but a waitress.

I'd skip the bbq and eat the fried chicken and burges.
