My BIL got rid of his wifes 15 tahoe because the a/c went out and got a jeep to replace it...They just had twins so they got a suburban xl. Less than 50k miles later the a/c went out on this one.

Toyota guys are touchy...
Must suck to own a truck that EVERY manufacture dominates in performance.

It performs alright, and keeps going, and going.
Been awhile since I heard of a million mile, Ford, Chevy, or Dodge, but seems like it happens every yr with Toyota.
Maybe I just don't look hard enough

A lot of you guys need a skilled mechanic, not a different brand vehicle. All these problems take a little bit of mechanical knowledge to repair........Does your guy actually qualify???

I have 0 brand loyalty, I get the best deal I can on what's out there, that thing starts giving a problem that I think is gonna be an ongoing thing, I dump it and go to the next best deal! So far Nissan has the best track record for me!

I am not brand loyal either.
We do have a Nissan Armada that has 190k miles on it. 1 set of brakes and a right rear wheel bearing is all we have ever had to do for maintenance.

I replaced the condenser in our 15’ Tahoe a couple of weeks ago. Cost me about $115 all in after the recharge. We were on the way back from Florida when it went out.

I loved Chevy when I was a kid, half a dozen transmissions later I'll drive anything but a Chevy.don't get even get me started on the AC actuators.
A 4 gen ram is way tougher than a 2004 to 2012 Chevy.
A tundra 5.7 is hands-down the toughest 1/2 ton truck ever made.
cons-
1 They Ride bad - solution is about 5k in a long arm suspension lift
2 millage is a joke - solution is stop whining and just pay it.
3 not fancy- it's a truck get over it.

Your other option is a 2014 Ford 5.0 also a solid rig

Thatís impressive!

We could add all of your years and post, multiply them by 500 and still not equal smarts lama licking posts.

So let me tell you about my 2006 TACO. I bought it used with 70k in 2011. I put 40k on it the next 8 years. I live in the Northwest, we get snow and lots of it. With the snow comes salt and sand.

I'm guessing you haven't heard about the rotted frames. The company that they were using to do the prep and sealing of the frames did a shoddy job. A job so bad that Toyota sued them and won. Thousands of trucks were affected. Mine was one that needed total frame replacement. I missed the deadline Ö..just never heard about it. The problem was there wasn't a recall. What Toyota got to do was pay for TV comercials and ads in Newspapers. NO MANDATORY RECALL.

My truck had holes in the frame that I could put my hand through. It was a nightmare. A truck that had 119k miles was undriveable. I sat it for about 2 months and luckily traded it in on a 2013 Taco. I got 4k on the trade in.

No steel frame is going to hold up very good to salt exposure for 13 years. I live on the Gulf coast so I know from experience.. Especially if the truck frame that is designed with holes in it from the factory.

My 2013 F150 with 5.0 just can back from Gullo after being there 24 days for a cylinder head replaced because of low compression. Truck has 73,000 miles. It has been to the dealer 13 times for warranty over the last 7 years. Thank god for the extended warranty, but itís a lemon at best.

The way I look at it is you spent 6 months of a car note to fix it, if everything else is still good keep driving it! My 2012 Silverado has only ever had issues with wheel sensors.

Iíve never been brand loyal either- Iíve driven Fords, nissans, Infinitiís, hondas, Toyotaís - just never the problems weíve had with this Chevy- expensive things that shouldnít go wrong as early in its life cycle.

I have a 2007 Tacoma and the thing just won't die. I was not loyal to Toyota by any means just had an uncle that hooked me up at the dealership. Over 200,000 miles and nothing but minor/routine repairs done. And I have beat the ever living crap out of this thing while hunting and fishing. I may have just got lucky I don't know...but my next truck will be a Toyota as well purely from MY EXPERIENCE with my current one.

If you did it for $115 with a recharge you will be doing it again before long, buying cheap parts never pays off in the longrun.

I used to be habitual buyer and have owned so many vehicles it is almost goofy but fun. My go to for basic reliable truck is Ford. With so many vehicles, I never owned a Dodge but certainly considered a Cummings when heavy pulling was needed. My Chevy's were nice but lots of petty issues which I can not tolerate so they never stayed long. I liked them but my Fords give me less headaches. My Chevy's all got better fuel economy though. My last Company Owned work truck was basic Chevy and was a great ride for stripped down 5.3 and got great gas mileage. My Ford 4.6 2010 current gulps fuel in town and mediocre on the highway. But is and has mostly been trouble free for 10 years. Drove an old hard body Nissan which was a great small 4x4 until a kiddo smashed me good. Only Toyota owned was a car and it was very bad. I would drive a Tundra but over priced.

This where in am with my 2015...just haven't been hit.

You forgot about the door lock actuater breaking (and the replacement also breaking) in yr 1, the incessant rattles popping up in the dash from day 3, the computer that controls the memory seats in year 1 and its replacement in year 2, the onstar antenna being replaced in year 2, the motors in the mirrors going out in year 3, the seatbelt going on recall twice, the brake vacuum booster going on recall, the power steering going on recall and the metal on metal chirping when the exhaust valves open to switch from v4 to v8.

I don't know what Chevy did wrong in 2014/2015...by they did it over and over and over. Other brands have problems too, but Chevy lost my loyalty with this piece of crap.

I was a F150 guy ever since I started driving. Bought a new 2014 F150 off the lot with 00,031 miles on it and traded it in after it's 4th transmission at 67K miles! Got into a Tundra and never looked back.

The only problem I've had with my last 3 cheby trucks' AC system is they freeze me to death. My 2019 High Country I just bought last year has an Auto temp feature and seems to hold temp just right. About 60 on her side and 75 on my side. Love this truck.

The funny thing is, I have a very late 2014 (2 months difference between my 2015) regular cab, V6, 4x4 GMC that was ordered overseas through Military program. It has mechanical everything, shifter on the floor, no onstar or satellite anything, rubber floor mats, basic.

It has been a ROCK
