Yessir...slowly but surely.

Thanks for looking gents. More progress yesterday and today even with the rains. We are close to being self sufficient out there.

Plumbing is complete with water heater, sinks and sh***er installed.

Both sinks have running water with MOEN faucets now.

Shower head and faucet installed.

When it dries up a little the AC/Heat guy will install the condenser unit and thermostat and perform a Start Up.
Appliances to follow, door hardware and some small touch ups and she will be ready.

Thanks fellas....the AC guy was out this week to install the condenser unit and thermostat and got us up and running with heat and ac. The appliances and a few little nic-nac touch ups are scheduled for this week. The builder and I will then do a punch list after that to shore up any loose ends. We will then consider this part of the process complete before moving on to the real PITA project of designing our future home build.

Well it’s a wrap fellas. The builder and I walked through the final punch list yesterday.....so this part of the journey is in the books.
Now it’s on to the next phase which will be the wife and I getting with the builder and trying to agree on the future house design-plans. We have a few months to weigh the budget and then research needs versus wants...my wife often confuses the two. Maybe we can get on the same page by April or so when we plan to put our house in Forney on the market. Hopefully it will sell fairly quick and we will move to the country.

A little overkill for “temporary” housing but remember I’m asking my city wife to move out to the country and rough it for several months while the new house gets built. Pick your battles, right?

Well I’m close to getting the shop where I want it. Sure nice to be able to finally have a place for all my crap and room to do simple projects.

The decking on both sides above the work table and the Mule is 10’ x 5’ and stout. We should be able to stack a bunch of stuff overhead and out of the way. A few more pegboards and some lighting under the big work bench should suffice.

And of course we have cold beverages on the ready now 24/7

Lookin' great Joel!! Is it just the angle of the pic or is that left hand light inside the runner for the door? If so, might want to move it a little farther to the left...

Love that floor! Looks good and will make you be a little more careful how you "mess it up"!

No Charlie....it must be the angle. It’s about 6” outside the rail which is the exact same position as the one on the right side. I do have 3 more 5000K lumen LED lights coming though. I’m gonna add one more above the door, in the middle, centered horizontally across the truss. Some of the ambient lighting in the back of the shop was blocked by the decking I built. The other 2 lights will go over both work benches.
And YES, this epoxy flooring is worth every red cent all day long. Keeps things cleaner and much easier to sweep that’s for sure. I’ve added the garage floor coatings to the last 4 homes we’ve lived in. Great investment IMO.
You can see the left light better here...before decking.

Yes, 2” of closed cell spray foam insulation in the ceiling-roof above trusses and 1” of closed cell in the walls.
