Guys, looking at new trucks and chevy has a turbo charged 4 cyl in a full sized truck. This thing sounds stupid small, but has anyone bought it?

It's a duramax and apparently does pretty well.

I don't know of any other banger they have the diesel is the new one for this year I think

Yep its a 2.7L inline 4 cylinder turbo diesel. Brother has one and likes it. What will you be doing with your new truck?

Minor truck things like haul wood and carry a kayak. Maybe tow a small boat/travel trailer in a few years.

10-4 should fit the bill. lots of reviews on youtube also.

TFL truck did a towing test with it and it did surprisingly well within its design limits. And no it’s not a diesel.

That being said, I wouldn’t buy one.

If it is a 2.7 L, that'd be the same size as the Ford Eco-boost small V6. Displacement is more important than # of cylinders. f you're a guy who trades ever few years, it's probably fine.

But no, I don't want a GM or Ford turbo charger long term.

Your brother does not have one. He has either a 3.0 in line 6 diesel or a 2.7 in line 4 cylinder turbo gas.

That 4 banger diesel is in the colorado and 3.0 is in the half ton. What OP is referring too is the 4 banger turbo gas in the half ton, look it up.

Wrong. 2.8diesel is in the Colorado. 3.0 diesel is in the Silverado.
