    New Orleans, what to do?

Headed there in the morning, what are the must see or do things there? And most of all where to eat?

    #2
I can't help you on the must see or do's, because all we did was eat and drink. Acme Oyster & Oceana Grill were great places for lunch. The Court of Two Sister (Huge brunch buffet), Commander Palace ($$dinner). All good places…I love New Orleans!

Kara and I have spend many times around the French Quarter. In fact, we got married there 8 years ago this month. We had our rehersal dinner upstairs at ACME. While you can't go wrong there, you'll get a lot better deal, less wait, and cheaper food across the street at Felix's Oyster Bar. Food is as good or better. Pretty much the same menu.

For gumbo, skip all of the tourist places and hit a DIVE bar at Chartres and Iberville called Evelyn's Place. Engage the old man working there into conversation and there won't be a dull moment. Ask him where he learned to cook that gumbo. The answer will shock you.

If you want to get your afternoon groove on, go to Razoo's on Bourbon and just kick back. Beers are three for one. Great music (80s) and after a few rounds, you'll be on stage.

        Have fun!

CB's list is as good as it gets.

Additionally, I would hit Mother's Poboys for some roast beef.

If it is your first time in NO, I would also recommend going to the piano bar at Pat O'Briens.

There's also a Harrahs Casino if you like to gamble.

We will agree to disagree on this one, lol. I'm not waiting in a line around the corner of the building for subpar food and rude service, I'm just not going to do it. Every experience(3 times) there has been less than desireable.

I would add Jacque Imo's in the Carollton area, eclectic and great food.

Are the bourdon street bars open? What are the virus protocols there?
I took alot of notes from all the suggestions.

Modified phase 1 .... could change daily based on the insane Mayor
                              https://www.neworleans.com/blog/post...ans-reopening/

before you go or book a hotel room, do some serious research and call the hotel, restaurants. Make sure you know exactly what's open before committing to the trip. You could easily spend $500 - $1000 for 2-3 days and have to sit in your hotel room ordering Uber Eats. Sadly, restaurants and businesses that have been around for 100+ years are folding like lawn chairs. The Mayor DGAF
