    Stick Burner Pulled Pork

I smoked 2 huge butt's for pulled pork last weekend for our Memorial Day family gathering. I decided to cut them in half because they were huge, and it would reduce the cooking time. I fired up my offset smoker for the first time in about 6 months and used some mesquite and oak wood for fuel. My pellet smoker doesn`t give pork butts near enough smoke flavor so I go old school when I want pulled pork. The pulled pork was awesome after I added a homemade vinegar-based BBQ sauce to it.

Those look awesome! Good idea on cutting in half to reduce cooking time. That method also gets you a lot more bark, which just adds more flavor and texture.

How long did it take for the halves to get done?

6.5 hours on smoker till 165 internal. Wrapped in foil and finished in oven at 250 for about 2 - 2.5 more hours. Took out around 203 internal. Both butts were huge. It gives you more surface area for seasoning and more bark as well.
