My 9 year old daughter got her first deer yesterday afternoon and it was a nice doe. She has been going to the stand with us since she was 4 but has always been leery of shooting herself. Well this year she decided she was ready, so we got her shooting a scoped 22 and getting used to shooting through an optic. She made a great shot through both lungs and the .223 did it’s job. Her doe ran about 70 yards and we watched her go down. She was very excited as was I. To say I have been waiting for this day for a long time would be an understatement. I am very proud of her for staying calm and making a great shot.
