    Protein this time a year?

I know a good # of people don’t feed protein this time of year.

Do you? Yes or no? and why or why not?

    Just asking

Helps the bucks recover from the rut, has zero effect on antler growth. Pick your argument and goals and go with it.

No. We stop before season, after years of watching them full up at night and zero day time movement.

February 1 we start up again, so it's a 2.5 month span or so with no protien.

Yes but on a timed feeder and daylight only, we use it as an attractant not a supplement. February thru September all they can eat.

Stop at the beginning of November, bucks slow down big time on consumption from November- Mid January anyway

                      Question:

If you have wildlife tax valuation and your wildlife plan is for deer, which requires you to feed free choice protein year around, you don’t stop with the protein, correct?

Yep, it’s one of the best attractants I’ve ever used. Using a timed feeder I feed once in the am for 30 seconds. Deer come in first thing in the am and stick around a good part of the day. No protein left for night feeding. Feeding this way has turned all my nocturnal deer to daytime visitors.

No. Feed Protein through August, then fill them up and try to keep them full the end of December until the following August. We don’t hunt our Protein Feeders.

Yes. Using “The Hammer” we leave it open for an hour at dawn year round.
