Well my legs are numb and my back is killing me.
Had this doe and yearling under me for the last 30 min. Which I normally would complain about, except I could see deer running/chasing down in the draw but I couldn’t move to look thru my binos.
Not a bad hunt so far, for the first morning.

Well that sucks!
Had a spike ninja crawl in and bust me.
He never blew, but he took everything with him when he left.
And as I’m typing this, I have a small 8 pnt, doe and yearling coming in.

Another small buck in the timber.
Deer are definitely on their feet this morning!

Finally slowed down some.
Man what a morning of deer movement!
Little back story to this property...
A good friend of mine has been trying to get me to come up and hunt his properties in Illinois for several years now. He doesn’t hunt but was kind enough to offer me an invitation. For one reason or another we just could never get our schedules lined out.
Well this year the stars aligned and Summer and I made a trip up mid October to visit and do some scouting. I hung 2 sets and put out 3 cameras on 3 different properties. I had an awesome scouting partner so I can’t take all the credit for the labor.
I was able to lock down 4 days to hunt so here we are. This morning has blown me away at the deer density on this stand. Hopefully I can knock a good 1 down in the next 4 days.
I started writing the family’s name on my fletchings last year so I could include them in my hunts. I’ll rotate arrows every hunt and whoever kills, gets a $100 bill. Summer is first up today since she has put in some leg work on this trip.
I’ll be doing all day sits as long as the wind allows me too.
Hang with me and let’s kill a big one.
Here are some pics from our scouting trip. Even got a little sight seeing in at Abe Lincoln’s family farm.
