Wife and I arrived in Costa Rica last Wednesday to celebrate her 2nd - 20th Birthday. We selected Secrets Papagayo in northern Guancaste. It’s been fantastic. We’ve done all the things. 14 hour tour to Arenal Volcano and hot springs, sunset catamaran and snorkeling ( well I snorkeled, she was sea sick). 6 hr off shore where we landed 5 Mahi-mahi, 4 black tuna, and the grand finale, a 7’ sailfish. And finally today we toured the area around Rincon La Vieja and spent the day in a mix of very cold waterfall and very hot springs.
This is my new favorite place to vacation. It’s not a inexpensive as other Latin American spots, but it’s much cleaner and safer. I also did not expect it to get dark at 6pm, but the sun is up by 0530
