He purchases my flights with Southwest Points and I Venmo him an agreed price usually lower than what the flight cost.

Southwest really went up on the fees they charge to transfer points.

I have a bunch of Southwest points and never thought about doing this. So, I just looked and it appears to be about 35k points or $500 in cash per person round trip from SAT to MBJ in May. Interesting…..
