I started last week on my first elk hunt with my good buddy Heith in New Mexico. I was fortunate enough to take a nice 7x7 at 74 yards on the first day. I was also able to run around with him for the next few days and film him shoot a nice 6x6 at a water hole.
Since we got it done a little early we made it back in time for the season opener and I was able to film my six year old kill his first deer with his crossbow. He made a great thirty yard shot on this management eight point. After the shot he burst into tears and gave his mother and I the biggest hugs you can imagine. I will never forget that moment but the best part actually was to follow. Without any coaching from us he immediate thanked the Lord for his buck. To say proud of our little guy would be an understatement!
