    Toyota mirror quote

Wife was backing out of garage and her mirror barely hit the side of the garage. A little piece of black gear fell out. Took it in today and the quote was $1,400.00 “because of all the warning sensors etc etc. the mirror comes as a unit.
    This is absolutely insane.

    Couldn’t see myself paying that.

Duct tape and super glue. I think a windshield on my Tundra is in the $1500 range. Crazy money!

When I drove a 2018 Tundra 1794, I had a kid race past me and hit my driver side mirror then ran. It was a $1700 mirror.

You can find it much cheaper online. And replacing mirrors is pretty easy to do yourself. Plenty of YouTube videos on it.

Replaced a mirror myself a while back, you can aftermarket parts on Amazon for about $140. Takes about an hour and a half if you’re having to learn as you go

Tail light lens for a new Ford Ranger is $1,200 due to the sensors. People have started stealing them off parked trucks like they do Cats.

Sounds like the warning sensor was broke already. She don't need to feel too bad. I backed out of the garage one day with my door partially open.

Yes it’s all the sensors involved. And 7s dad if I caught someone trying to steal my tail light covers I’d probably go to jail or the hospital.

I'm wondering it the broken part could be made on a 3d printer?
