Natural browse or protein fed? That makes a difference in the teeth wear, right?

If you made me guess, I would say 6 not given any extra information.

Based on what can be seen in the photos, teeth would say 5 to 6 years. Variability may be due to the lost back cusp on tooth #6, but sometimes they just wear on one side more than the other.

So, here's the criteria. Looking at the ridges on the tongue side, the dentine (dark stuff) is as wide or wider than the enamel (white stuff) that surrounds it on molars #4, #5, and #6, but on right side #4 is not fully dished out but has some center ridge remaining meeting criteria for 5 years. On the left side, which is really hard to see from angle of photo, #4 appears fully dished out with no center ridge remaining, thus meeting the criteria for 6 years.

But either way, a buck that could be expected to be near peak antler growth.

When taking photos of deer teeth, you want to be looking almost straight down at them.

5.5, 4th tooth not quite dished out, but close, and dentine on the 6th is not wide enough for 6.5.
