Youth Bear bows are always a good choice and retain their value well. Personally, I went with Diamond bows until I was strong enough to get a Bowtech bow. Hoyt works well for a lot of young archers. I worked in an archery shop and Hoyt was one of the top sellers right along with Bear.
What you and him will need to understand, that super adjustable bows have basically zero back wall. At "full draw" he can still move it 1-2 inches in each direction.

True. There are 2 out now that have the limb stop option. The Elite Ember and the Bowtech Amplify. The Ember maxes out at 60.
