    Winchester 61 pump 22lr

I have recently come into possession of a Winchester model 61 pump 22.
The gun looks to be in excellent shape.
However, it will not load from the tube.
It won't let a round out of the tube.
I've been looking into it, and everyone else has a problem of it double feeding due to worn out catch, but mine is the opposite issue.
Any ideas? I'd really like my boy to be able to get some rabbits with this piece of history.

Start with a good cleaning if you haven't already. Then start checking for function. Without getting mine out to verify, I believe a shell drops into the carrier from the tube and the carrier pops up to align with the chamber. And chambers when to slide moves forward.

Have you checked to make sure the tube spring isn't locking up or gone weak?? Try dropping one in without the spring loaded tube while pointing up & see if round will load / cycle with just gravity. (safety first)

The are some youtube vids on disassembly & I would start there just to see if anything jumps at you...the 61 & 62 are arguably the best 22 pumps ever made & pretty bullet proof.

It's the little button/tab keeping the shell from leaving chamber.
I tried cleaning, but maybe there is a little junk behind the bar.
