Crane hunt with Muddy Water Outfitters

    Muddy Water Outfitters, Wichita Falls.

They had us on the crane Saturday morning and ducks hitting the water Sunday morning. Great hunt, good food and good dudes. If you like podcasts, check their's out https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/...?id=1596395904.

For me, every hunt that takes me west of DFW must include a stop for at least one 'world famous burrito' from Allsups, and maybe a chimichanga...and taco sauce.

Saturday morning, up early brushing in blinds.

Garrett, "The Crane Cowboy" worked. There were 10 of us or so and he made sure every single blind was brushed in well.

Decoys are out, blinds are brushed. Time to tell jokes and lies.

You know they're big but until you see them in person and hold one, or have to run with two handfuls bag to your blind, you can't quite appreciate how big a bird the sandhill crane is.

Zeke, this dog looks like he's peaking on a cycle of test and HGH, dude was thick. Bust his butt all morning for us.

I just got back from hunting Cranes outside Pampa, TX a week ago. Had a great time and it was a blast hunting them.
Great photos and glad you had a successful hunt!

                            Thank you everyone!

I was shooting a mix of 3.5" #2's and 3" #2's. They both did the trick. The birds were decoying so close that we had very few cripples.
