Wow!

Although I agree with some of these positions some of the others are absolutely looney tunes. I identify as a Republican but this is embarrassing.

It is always the hardest of the hard core ideologues who show up for the convention and put the planks in the platform so some will be extreme. I agree with many of them but I think they attack some issues from the wrong angle. For example, supporting repeal of the Roe v. Wade and Oberegefell decisions on 10th Amendment grounds is fine. You can certainly make a sound Constitutional argument for that. However condemning homosexuality in general on religious (Christian) grounds does not belong in a party platform IMO.

I thought advocating the US going back on the Gold Standard was pretty out there.

Was good to see some movement forward on some social issues but really telling that the first thing out the gate is the homosexuality issue.
