If Durkin is the hire, it is contingent on going back to a 4 man front which apparently is what he loves (off the Muschamp, Saban tree) otherwise the hire would be Derek Mason from Auburn. Rumor is Durkin went to Iowa St DC to learn his defense and incorporated that 3 man front at Ole Miss because he didn't have the talent to run the traditional 4 man front he learned from Muschamp.

If Durkin is the hire, he will float around the defense to help out coaching. Not assigned a position coach. The corners coach will take over safeties as well.

I personally wanted Derek Mason but with the talent on the team built around the dline, Coach wanted to go with a scheme similar to Elko's that allows the 4 dlineman to attack and not be gap pluggers. Its scheme friendly for dlineman.

Njigba is a great kid/talent. Amazing to watch work. CJ Stroud showed why Ewers left. excited to see what happens next year with all of the youth developing.
