    Texas Sized hog trapped

I trapped a big hog last night and honestly was surprised to see him still in the trap when I got home this evening.

To see the details on the trap, go look in the DIY section, Texas Size Hog Trap. There's more pictures, too, but let's just say this is the biggest hog I've ever taken and I know there is no way any smaller trap would have caught him. The fence is 34" high tensile hog wire. This is the expensive stuff and the DIY thread explains it.

This was about 10 minutes before I shot him.

I followed your thread about building the trap.

Rule #13.5: Never take a picture standing with a hog to show how big he is? ..........

That's a big hog for sure and your right, he could have easily jumped out.

Congrats on the big pig! I must admit I had doubts about the durability of your trap when a good sized porker was inside. Looks like my doubts were groundless. Great job!
