    Seeding Bermuda?

Will it do ok in the August heat if i put enough water on it? Trying to establish grass on a levee about 25' wide by 200' long. After a soil test, i added nitrogen and pelletized limestone to it a couple weeks back. Ive got drums and a 4gpm sprayer pump. How much water will it need for germination and to keep it alive? Any other suggestions?

It needs a god soaking every day.

Yes. Just water it daily. Several times a day if possible. I just planted 100 lbs of seed a week ago and it’s already sprouting

It will germinate, but it will be tough.

Keep it watered and it will come up.

Can you wait until end of October and mix it in with rye grass?

Bermuda wont come up in March. Must be 70 degrees to germinate. Plant it and keep it wet, it will grow. June is ideal time to plant bermuda.

Planted mine mid May, got some rain and watered the days it didn’t. Had grass germinating in 7 days and up 3” y’all in 21 days.

Had mine sprayed on last Thursday....4 days later had green fuzz coming up. Now it’s about 2 to 3” tall.

I hydroseed on the side and a trick I use is to soak the seed in the bag for 24hrs before planting it.. I usually have sprouts 4 days later.

Make sure to keep ground moist and you might have to water every hour during the day right now but they will grow fine.

                            Thanks for the help.

                            How much does hydroseeding run?

I paid .08 a square foot. The first 500.00 upfront. I had 9680 square feet and my total was around 1100.00
