I just got back from a lease I hunt on in Maverick County, it’s low fence and 14,000 acres. Earlier this season I shot a big 8 (scoring 156 7/8) hunting a big typical 12 that had a few extras, this deer was very old in fact I saw him 3 seasons ago and he was estimated 205 ( I have the sheds from then). Well I struck out after 4 days in November, then headed back this week and low and behold he showed up right before dark and I got him. I spent the next few days on cloud nine sitting in other blinds and photography and doing photography taking pictures and video in giant bucks and watching the rut begin. I took a picture of a big mainframe eight point that had a small ninth point in another extra tine. He was old as well and had been a giant a few years ago that had melted down quite a bit. After talking to the lease manager we made an agreement and I was able to harvest the buck. On cloud 9!!!!
