What dealer carries a lot of bows?

Would like to go to a dealer that has a lot of longbows/recurves in stock that I could shoot. I don't really want to buy one without shooting it.

Seems like most dealers carry tons of compounds and one or two longbows/recurves.

I wouldn't mind driving a bit to find a place like this.

    Live in Paris, Texas.

The only one I know of is Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear in Wheat Ridge (Denver), CO. Most archery shops just carry a few that are made by the compound manufacturers and cheap ones, like OMP.

You could go not too far to get to a couple different bowyers shops. Primal Tech Bows is in Big Sandy. Bob Lee Archery is in Jacksonville. Navajo Bows is in Henderson. Go a little farther, and Sarrels Archery is near Austin, and Wagstaff archery is in San Antonio.

Just a few options for you.

Or go to some shoots and ask if you can shoot a few folks bows.

If you ever get down around the " Golden Triangle" there's a place in Bridge City by the name of Precision Archery that will fill your needs.

Justin, Charles at the Broadhead Barn in Reno carries a good selection.... at least enough for you to figure out what you want. Plus he’s a great guy!

                Their trad selection is thin.

you can buy used off archery talk traditional side. any reputable bow maker is going to make a good bow. widow, robertson, sarrel, acs, morrison, just a few of many great bowyers out there. most traditional guys are pretty honest in my experience. you do need to figure out your draw length and weight before you buy. beware going to heavy

But Willie and a couple other techs have some experience and can help you get started.

Bob Lee in Jacksonville TX usually has a lot of their bows in inventory.

Might as well add Robert Lutkenhaus with Predator Longbows in Muenster. He usually has some bows on the shelf you can shoot.
Most custom bowyers will have some bows at their shop you can try.
As mentioned shoots are a pretty good place to try some as well.
