That's just where arrow happened to wind up. It was a 30 yard shot, broadside, from a 10' quad pod. The arrow was on a downward arc. Not a full pass through. He broke the arrow off when he landed on it.

I never even noticed the arrow there until you pointed it out.

Thanks James, and thanks for all the compliments. I've never been so happy to be done deer hunting before gun season even starts.

Those northern deer are like Kansas deer. Ears are huge, ear tip to ear tip are 15-16” and they are heavy 200+ pounds. You put that set of antlers on a 5-6 yr old 175# deer and his antlers would really show their size.

Can you call your taxi and ask him to score? We want to know!

If anyone is interested, the saga is on Pages 6 & 7 of the Middle of North Texas thread.

Congrats on the buck! I think he will score some where near 148.

Okay, i texted the taxidermist, the great Aaron Austin. He said he will find some time in the next day or two and score him. I asked him to text me a pic of the worksheet. So post up your estimates. Once i get the number from Aaron i will let everyone know when the big reveal will be.

Deer will be 152 to 153.......I did extensive analysis ( averaged garguys and antler86 scores) to come up with this scientific estimate.

154 2/8 is the exact number on my mind.
