    Never seen one of these

Coming back from a successful bow hunting weekend with my brother and nephews and saw these 5 on the side of the road. Never seen a white turkey in the wild. Cross bred with a domestic perhaps?

There was one in a TPWD magazine a few years ago. They said it was a pigment defect.

The one on the left hasn’t missed too many meals from the looks of it...

Several domestics were turned loose to help create more hunting opportunities around one of the areas I hunt back in the 1960s. There were two groups of about 75 birds back in the 1990s that were black and white, gray, white with black patches, black with white patches, ect. Most of the groups are gone now. But every once in a while, one of the neighboring ranches will shoot one of a few that still exist. These are in Bosque and Hill counties.
