Placing a stainless steel hose clamp around the hinge could prevent a tailgate theft.
Placing 2 clamps could make it even more difficult for a thief.

Every truck I've ever owned has gotten this. I put them on just tight enough so I can tap the screw around backwards with a screwdriver and a hammer. You'd have to do same or cut it to remove it
