Beansandchili, I agree and I’d would have preferred sitting in the stand, getting a shot and tracked a deer but it is what it is.
Scottimus, No sir. I don’t leave my stands or any equipment out there. I carry it in and out every time. Although when I was out there this time I did walk past two of the same brand cameras locked to trees in an area I hunted a few years ago. That was only the second time I’ve seen cameras out there. |

Are you trolling or really sitting someone else’s stand? Doesn’t sound like mine, but fair chance you’d be taking a bludgeon point to the rear if you were. |

That doesn’t surprise me. I know where three other stands are that have been strapped to those same trees for at least 5 years. I’ve never seen anyone sit in them, there’s no seat cushions and one has vines growing on it.

Yesterday morning was pretty rough. It definitely took longer to get there than normal because of the fog. Has anybody else noticed the lack of acorns, trails and activity this year?

Yea the activity is way down recently, I've noticed when we get cooler weather I see more activity. Also, looked at multiple oaks and I've only seen one acorn....

![]() ![]() Anybody on here happen to know why the northern part of the creek is marked public but when I went to check it out yesterday there’s a rifle blind with a feeder set up in the field I circled in red? I didn’t take a close look at feeder to see if it was running or even had the motor but was just curious if anybody on here knew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It looked to have a feed panel around it too. My main concern was that the other side of the creek is actually private and not public like the book indicates.

If you’re talking about the cleared area it’s private land belonging to Mr. Stanley. That’s why there are feeders and stands out there. There are several discrepancies between the map in the booklet and the KMZ file. That piece is private for sure though. They shoot lots of pigs of pigs over there, almost every sit I’ve been out there in six years you can hear the semi auto banging away. I’ve always wondered where all those bullets end up.

That land is private and marked. And has a barbed wire fence around it which isn’t in the greatest shape but you can definitely tell it’s there. |

You’d think TPWD could get there stuff straight when it comes to what is public and what is not. Feel like they could really prevent some stuff by accurately mapping what is actually public and not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

[QUOTE=97JeepGuy;15284159]You’d think TPWD could get there stuff straight when it comes to what is public and what is not. Feel like they could really prevent some stuff by accurately mapping what is actually public and not.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[ I have contacted them multiple times about it. Every year I think they may have updated the mapping info yet it’s the same. I was told the local TPWD people are in charge of that and given a number to call yet I can never get ahold of anybody with that number. What I’ve found to be best is just stay away from the fence lines. Most if not all of the private landowners around there hunt themselves and I personally don’t want to catch a bullet out there with the spotty cell service. Remember if you do arrow an animal it will still run and if it crosses onto private land you’ll have to get permission to go on private land to retrieve the animal or they could just tag your animal and take it themselves like they did to me. |

Well, walked less than 1 mile and counted 3 lock on and 1 double ladder with a spypoint micro. I waved.
Wind is crazy and maelde me cold this morning. While walking back to truck jumped a doe. Best sign I found was near the road. 4 rubs and quite a bit of poo. Setup on it now. |

Got my first public land doe during thanksgiving. Man was that fun dragging it out. There were so many people out there Sunday morning.
Since this cold front push through I've had some good activity. Saw someone spilled some golden acorns in the parking lot... |

Planning on hunting Wednesday morning if kiddos don't throw a curveball at me. Haven't been able to get up there and hunt any since I scouted. Just excited to be outside, if I see anything that is just icing on the cake

Well I lost a big boar yesterday. He staggered off slowly abd collapsed u see a tree I was celebrating early because after a few minutes of rolling he got up abd staggered off. I think I broke both his shoulders, I used the heaviest arrow I have, 250 spine grizz stik, 100 grain outsert with a 315 gr single bevel huge head. He should have a glowing green nocturnal. I also lost a boar a couple weeks ago with a light deer arrow (cut down gold tip). If anyone finds one of these boars let me know I’d love to retrieve my grizzly stik abd see the skull. TIA

it was in Yeghua, there are so many hogs out there I’ve bumped in to some Sounders that I think could of had well over 50 hogs. But I was really disappointed to lose the big one.

I have never done it because when I’ve gone out there during the warm months I’ve run into moccasins anywhere there’s water. One of the private land owners out there told me to watch out for timber rattlers but I haven’t ever seen one.
