It was getting noticeably drier last time I was out a couple of weeks back. We will definitely take the rain.

It’s a **** swamp at our lease. 2.5” Tuesday. Probably another 1.5” today.

That's a cool area. Were you folks effected by the anthrax?

That is awesome. I know there has been exotics up in your area for sometime. Primarily, aoudads from what I know. Are you folks seeing their numbers on the rise? Out in southwestern val verde both aoudad and mouflon seem to be really populating the river areas.

Auodad is pretty low, but our axis numbers are great

Well, your a lot better of with axis than aoudad. Hopefully the rain keeps things green over the summer and the critters stay fat and healthy whatever they might be.

Anyone that hunts near Comstock might want to check on their hunting camps, blinds and feeders. I was out working south of Comstock and saw several blinds and feeders that were flipped/knocked down by the storm on Friday.

I was in a stand during that! It was pretty wicked! My app showed 54mph winds. Either our tie downs are good or my fat butt held the stand down.

Wicked for sure. I saw a lot of broken limbs. Even oaks and mesquites that I figured could handle some wind were busted down. There was an RV at work that got flipped over.

I agree the wind had to have gotten nasty. Got these from a guy on our pasture today. Of course these are my 2 favorite spots.
