I'll have to go with the gated private community of Lake Kiowa where by brother lives. Unbelievable fishery. Hard to keep them from jumping in da boat up there.

I've always loved Amistad. It's not crowded, even on the holiday weekends.

I am bias because I have been here my whole life and honestly have not been to too terribly many other lakes:

            Possum Kingdom

Great fishing in mornings and evenings
Great wind protected spots for water sports
            Great spots for people watching/socializing
Great boat access food on both ends of the lake
Tons of wildlife surrounding the lake
            Great golf course
            multiple great Marinas
My only negative is after 10AM and before 7PM on busy summer weekends you might as well leave the boat in the slip or on the trailer due to the amount of boats out and about

On the busy summer weekends we spend our weekends at our families cabin on Hubbard Creek Res. and the fishing is always good and it is NEVER crowded

This, on the Gun Barrell City side. My grandparents had a house their and fishing is great and very little traffic.

To me Rayburn is one of the nicest lakes in Texas, it doesn't have boat houses all over it and unless there is a tournament it's not too crowded. Cado and Martin creek are also nice lakes. I am more partial to big trees around the lake than boat houses.

The lake is about 10% developed....plenty of room for everyone. Remember, it’s the largest lake inside the state of Texas (not bordering another state).
^^^^This. Palestine and cedar creek way over crowded
