    Actually I’m fixing to try a Savage 220 Turkey smooth bore with a modified choke tube. My objective is to stay away from the expensive sabots the rifled barrels use.

      Ok, that's what I have, but in 16 ga. and 12 ga.. I thought I read the 20 ga., had lower velocity and lighter slug, I guess I miss read it or it was a another brand of slugs.

        Its 1/2 ounce at right at 1800fps. I just dropped a hog again yesterday with it.

          Anyone that’s ever seen buckshot at under 50 yards usually has no complaints. It’s very effective in critters with 4 or 2 legs.

            Yes, and the triple aught 410 in a column to the neck will drop a 300lb hog like a sack of concrete.

            If buckshot were my game, a semi-auto with double aught and an extra full choke would be my choice.
