Honestly, they love corn coat. I think their numbers are just generally way down with the local guy running dogs constantly. So, don't be discouraged at first if you don't see them. When season starts and the pressure drops off they'll come back around.

Lol our place is just woods. I'm getting the hog itch. I would have done anything to get those things off our cattle ranch though.

When do they start moving more consistently in this area? To anyone who knows.

Only shooter buck I've seen in person before November was on the last day of bow season in 2011. If I was planning to take off work a week to hunt it would be the week of Thanksgiving.

My place is in southern Cooke. Been hunting it for 20ish years.

I’m just not as good of a hunter as you, I guess.

Finally got a couple bucks on camera. No shooters but it gives me hope they are starting to get out out of their summer pattern. We've got a couple of the smaller ones already shed velvet and a few still in full velvet.

That's awesome for who is hunting them.. I have a big, what I think, is a 3 point. Crab on one side and what looks to be a 18" main beam with no tines. If I get a clearer pic of him and it's a true 3, then he'll be on my hit list.
