They just replied to me and said itís a Mesa pattern. So looks like APR will just have to go off the photo to match.

I have a gun coated in burnt bronze and the action on the one I posted does not look burnt bronze. Looks closer to a FDE or something more tan.

I like this pattern but can a little sage color be added to it.

So far what I have in mind is 6.5 PRC

24" Ratchet Fluting barrel
Barreled action cerakoted sniper gray or elite blackout.

Closest thing I have done with it so far is the 300PRC. It had no issues.

How would i describe this stock pattern when placing my order? I'd like to get this pattern but in grey/dark grey rather than the bronze/tan in the pic.

Just say you want carbon desert night but with gray and dark gray. I’m sure they’ll know what you mean.

Edit: are you talking about the top or bottom photo?

May be a dumb question, but what are the pros/cons of a radial vs gill brake?

Planning on going with 7mm Mag, shooting Berger 180 VLD’s.

Would there be a barrel length and twist rate you reccomend?

Would the brake be cerokoted to match action?

Update time!

First.....you guys have been keeping my front help busy today Talked to Proof, and they said to expect barrels around the first of April. So it looks like the switch is not impacting the schedule too badly. For the one-offs like the 20" 7mm mentioned in an earlier thread, they'll do them with a minimum quantity of 5. So if enough folks want a length not listed on their site, it can be done.

Interested in this as well. I ordered a 22Ē bbl in 7-08 assuming Iíd end up with a 24Ē in the event Proof couldnít deliver a length not listed on their website.

Primary advantage is that if you decide to run it suppressed you still have a short handy rifle. Without a suppressor it is definitely handy. The 7mm-08 is one of those cartridges that doesn't give up a lot of velocity when you shorthen the barrel, I've seen tests that show only 17 - 25 fps loss per inch, even down to 18". So going down to 20" vs 24" you're only going to give up around 100fps.

What barrel length and twist are the 28 Nosler people going with? I don't reload so expecting bullet weight will be between 160-175gr. Thinking 26" with 1:9 right now
