Iím in for the evening sit. Checked cards this afternoon. Bigger deer showing up at most blinds. Groups starting to be doe buck mixes. I saw several scrapes today. Iím still seeing does and fawns in the middle of the day. They are eating the green growth the rain pushed up. Fairly optimistic for the evening. Good wind direction it could use a little more. I canít believe Iím saying that in Garza county. I will try to update. Feeder rings at 6:30

View from the blind. I just had a coyote sound off real close. Not the start Iím looking for, but definitely on the hit list. It would be bad for Wylie to get in here.

Cull is chasing a very mature doe all over and grunting a ton. Iím hoping mr big hears all this and comes by. If heíd leave the doe alone Iíd shoot her as well. We have history with her stomping ways.

Around McLean, believe Bucks breaking patterns and moving out if bachelor groups. Partner sat tonight and had 15 does come through and no bucks. I sat same stand a week ago and had 7 bucks come through. So far I passed a 7.5 year old 135Ē 8 point this year. We have more deer running around this year than usual. Feel like we should have some big boys show up in a few weeks.

Buck I passed a few weeks ago, had him on camera a few years, first time I have ever seen him in person.

Antelope I shot a few weeks ago west of HEREFORD

NADA ands I mean NADA moving on the Kent/Stonewall county line between Jayton and Rotan. Saw a cull 7 that was way to young to cull on Sat morning and a so-so 10 on Saturday afternoon. Not much moving on or around our place except pigs. Helped a couple next door track a buck that was shot with a rifle at over 100 yards facing them.? Blood all the way for 200 yards to the river and that is where we left them with rifle in hand crossing the river and on a property that is not theirs! Blood on the banks crossing the river was fresh and this buck never tried to bed. He is being pushed and if they find him it will be a miracle. No idea on horn size, but he was a big bodied deer? First deer for the wife so I hope they find it and learn some lessons.

Drove around south Hemphill County this evening just to look around and see some different country. The wheat fields that had deer in them only had does. And lots of them. This was shortly before sundown. No bucks seen. Does and fawns still running together. Our neighbors bind weed pasture has a couple of bucks showing in the evenings and I have pics of 4 different 3.5 year-olds that are all still quite nocturnal. I've bow hunted a couple of times now and nothing has come close. Historically, on our place the hunting is pretty slow until Thanksgiving and the following 2 weeks. Of course, by then, most of the bucks of any size are at least partially broken up. I suppose the one upside of my observations, besides the fact that we actually have deer on the place, is that based on game cam photos, our buck to doe ratio is around 1:1 if not higher in favor of the bucks. As someone who spent his formative years hunting on leases around Mason, I can't tell you much I appreciate this ratio.

I'm going to brave the cold north wind in the morning. Hope it pays off!

Most of my deer disappeared this last week. Went from 800 pictures every couple of days to about 70. I do finally have a decent buck coming in consistently. Maybe he'll show in the morning.

Maybe, but it has been like that since the start of bow season. Slowest season since we have hunted this area and that has been over 15 years I think.
