Well we checked off 1 of 2 goals this year for my twin 10yo boys. Drake killed his first “real buck” (non-spike) this morning on an awesome hunt where we saw 8 bucks while in the blind. This buck and another young 8 came into the feeder about 8am and Drake decided he wanted to shoot him. Even with a broken right beam I knew he was plenty wide so I gave the green light. I was videoing them come in and to say both my boys were shaking would be an understatement…the whole blind was shaking, maybe me too a little! Lol I was able to calm him down and he took a shot about 25 yards with the crossbow and hit him in the 10 ring! We all high fived and hugged and replayed the video on the camera and knew it was a great hit. We waited awhile to see if another buck would show for his brother Caiden but none came in to the feeder. The track job was short as I saw the white belly laying in the grass about 50 yards from where the buck was standing. Both boys looked up and sprinted to the buck and the celebration and pictures began. Super proud Dad moment and looking forward to getting Caiden a chance at a buck this season. Just like my first buck, I’m excited to get it mounted for him and relive memories for a long time. These boys are getting expensive!!
Hopefully in the next week or so I can get a video edited and share with the green screen. Good luck to everyone this season!
